There are hospital sites now open to enrolment across the UK and more being set up. Please see the full list and map here.
Sites are reaching out to people who have already registered an interest and may be eligible after completing the form. The hospital site teams will arrange a call or contact you by email to discuss your answers in more detail, to see if you are suitable to take part.
Please be aware of these important things to know:
- We are delighted there has been a large amount of interest in becoming a participant in Octopus. More than 2500 people with MS have registered their interest in the trial.
- Octopus will run until at least 2028 and will have 2 stages. Stage 1 is completed with 375 participants. Stage 2 is recruiting and will recruit about 825 more participants until around 2028.
-
Some sites have a lot of potential participants registered, so they may not contact new registrants until later in 2025 or beyond. These hospital sites are:
- The Anne Rowling Regenerative Neurology Clinic Edinburgh
- University College Hospital London
- University Hospital Southampton
Other sites may still need participants. We encourage you to register and join the waiting list to be kept updated on the trial. Please still bear in mind you may not be contacted by your chosen site this year. Priority will be given to participants based on their registration date.
If you are happy to be put onto the waiting list, you can show your interest in taking part in Octopus by filling in the Registration of Interest Form. You will be able to check if you might be potentially eligible for Octopus and let us know which Octopus hospital site you prefer.
Octopus will be open and recruiting participants until at least 2028 or beyond. We will keep you posted on the trial progress including when the next stage begins. If you would like more information or updates on Octopus, please visit:
